LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (July 29, 2025) —<\/strong>\u00a0As part of its continued investment in Arkansas, today Amazon broke ground on a more than 930,000-square-foot logistics facility in Little Rock that will create more than 1,000 full- and part-time jobs once fully operational. This new investment will help improve delivery speeds for customers and boost local economic growth. The facility is expected to be operational by 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m excited to see companies like Amazon choosing the Port of Little Rock \u2013 an area where river, rail, road, and runway all connect \u2013 to expand their business,\u201d\u00a0said Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders.\u00a0\u201cThis strategic location in the heart of the heartland streamlines logistics processes and offers businesses easy access to critical transportation corridors. Areas like this are just one reason why Central Arkansas is a great place to do business.\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We’re proud to continue investing in Arkansas and Little Rock with this new facility,” said Andrea Fava, Vice President of Public Policy for Amazon. “This project will create 1,000 jobs with competitive benefits while helping us provide faster delivery and great service to our customers. We’re grateful to state and local partners for their support in making this project possible.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAmazon\u2019s decision to reinvest in the Port of Little Rock demonstrates again the strength of Arkansas\u2019s capital city as a logistical hub and great place to do business,\u201d said Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott, Jr. \u201cWe are excited about this expansion and all the great things happening for job growth and economic development at the Port and across our City.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAmazon\u2019s continued growth at the Port of Little Rock reflects the strength of our community partnerships and the shared vision we have for Pulaski County\u2019s future,\u201d said Pulaski County Judge Barry Hyde. \u201cThis project not only brings jobs\u2014it creates pathways for workforce development and long-term opportunity for our residents.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amazon continues to expand its footprint across Arkansas and beyond Little Rock, investing in smaller cities, towns and rural communities. Amazon has opened delivery stations in Lowell, Hot Springs and currently has delivery stations under construction in Texarkana and Fort Smith. These investments in rural communities ensure that Amazon can provide efficient, cost-effective delivery service to customers, regardless of where they live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAmazon has steadily grown in Arkansas in recent years, and the latest logistics facility in Little Rock will only accelerate this growth in the Natural State,\u201d said Clint O\u2019Neal, executive director of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission. \u201cLittle Rock is a national logistics hub, and Amazon will be well-served by the workforce they find in Central Arkansas. This facility will strengthen our state\u2019s and the city\u2019s logistics industry, while playing an important role in delivering value to Amazon customers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“In 2017, following our Love, Little Rock campaign, the Little Rock Regional Chamber had the opportunity to begin a new relationship with Amazon,\u201d said Jay Chesshir, Little Rock Regional Chamber President and CEO.  While we didn’t have the primary requirements for HQ2, we knew that future projects could fit nicely within our community, region and economy. Thousands of new jobs, millions of square feet in building construction and billions of economic impact later, this next exciting project is further proof of the strong relationship that we’ve built.  Thanks Amazon!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amazon supports more than one million employees worldwide who are innovating and working to serve customers throughout several global fulfillment centers, retail locations, data centers, corporate offices, tech hubs and headquarters locations. Hourly employees in Amazon’s fulfillment and transportation network receive at least an average base wage of more than $22 per hour and average total compensation of more than $29 per hour when you include the value of their elected benefits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2010, Amazon has created 4,000 full- and part-time jobs in Arkansas and invested more than $2.6 billion across the state, including infrastructure and compensation to our employees. These investments have contributed an additional $2.4 billion to the Arkansas economy and have helped create 6,500 indirect jobs on top of Amazon\u2019s direct hires\u2014from jobs in construction and logistics to professional services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Full-time hourly employees have access to comprehensive benefits starting on day one, including full health, vision and dental, 401k with 50 percent company match and up to 20 weeks of paid parental leave. In addition, full-time hourly employees have access to continuing education opportunities through the company\u2019s upskilling program, Career Choice, in which Amazon will pre-pay tuition for courses related to in-demand fields, regardless of whether the skills are relevant to a career at Amazon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
